New York Fashion Week is Finally Here

Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

I leave for New York Fashion Week tomorrow! It’s finally here. I’m spent hours and hours and hours preparing for my trip and position backstage helping get the models ready to strut their stuff and show off the beautiful designs of world famous fashion designers. I’m working at 21 major designers’ shows which most high level fashion industry pros have said is a crazy number to work at but hey, I’m there to get as much out of it as humanly possible.

I do nothing I have a passion for only part way. I give it everything I’ve got and this is no exception. When I get home after fashion week, I can sleep as long as I need to. For the time I’m at NYFW, I’m soaking up as much knowledge, experience and ambiance as I can.

I’ve been excited about this since May when I was asked to do it and the excitement has been building ever since then. It’s now at a frenzied level. :)

Here’s the original post I wrote to let everyone know I was going: http://www.impeccableimagellc.com/2012/05/new-york-fashion-week-oh-yeah-im-going/

Due to confidentiality, I won’t be able to take pictures backstage or do any social media from backstage but when I get home, look for a behind the scenes look at the true NYFW told from my perspective.

New York Fashion Week-Oh Yeah, I’m Going!

Start spreading the news; I’m leaving today; I wanna be a part of it, New York, New York!! I’ve loved that song my whole life.

I’ve been taking image consulting classes at Fashion Institute of Technology of New York City. I’m working towards my image consulting certification. I’ve enjoyed each of the classes and I just finished a Fashion Publicity class, which is my favorite one thus far. My professor, who works for the biggest names in fashion, asked me if I wanted to work with her at New York Fashion Week this September. Uh, yeah! I’d be an absolute idiot not to.

So, it’s official. I bought my plane tickets last night. Woohoo!! Now I have to start working on my accommodations. I’m going to be there all week so I need to keep it economical.

I’m so excited I can barely contain myself. I actually feel like crying for joy every time I think about it. It really is a dream come true.

Of course I’ll take as many pictures as I’m allowed to but since I’ll be behind the scenes, there’s a lot of confidentiality so I won’t be able to be clicking away willy nilly. Oh well, that’s the price you have to pay for high fashion.
