Hair Rules Curly Hair Product Review

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Well, I’m on the last line of curly hair products I’m reviewing, Hair Rules. I gave this set of products quite a bit more than a week to get an accurate set of results.

I used the shampoo (without sulfates), conditioner and wavy mousse.

It doesn’t make your hair crunchy which is a major plus. It does a great job of making your hair soft. Unfortunately with my hair, it flattens out the curl as well. I think this is made for coarse, thick hair although once again, the women with the perfect hair told me it works for every kind of hair.

I recommend this for people with coarse, thick curly hair but not for people with fine curly hair. After all of these reviews, I’m going to continue to use Curls LLC. I got the best results from that line of curly hair products and they smell awesome.

Mixed Chicks Curly Hair Products Review

Friday, April 15th, 2011

Last time I talked about Curls LLC, which I really like. This time I’ll give you my personal view on Mixed Chicks hair products.

I’ve used Mixed Chicks products for over a week now, which is the same amount of time I used the previous products I reviewed. I had high hopes for the line because of the results I got from the other lines I’ve tried.

The week started out well because the product smells good and really softens your hair. I noticed immediately that the products are very thick. I initially thought this could prove to not be a good thing for my fine hair. I also noticed that the products are not sulfate free like the other lines I’ve tried. In fact, the first ingredient on the shampoo bottle is sulfate. Oh, oh.

I still had an open mind and wanted to give them a fair try so I kept using them the whole week. The products I used were the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. The only other product they had, that I didn’t purchase was the Gloss, shine & thermal protection serum. When I asked about it, the woman with the absolute perfect, curly hair said that I could skip it since I had a budget and it really only adds shine. It doesn’t enhance curl.

As the week went on, I noticed that my hair was really soft; believe it or not, too soft. Since my hair is fine, it doesn’t have the extra body that I think these products are created for (even though the person said it would be great for my hair type). When my hair gets too soft, my curls flatten out-no, not straighten, just flatten and lose all body. Yuck!

At the end of the week I actually used Curls LLC styling products to try and get my curls back and they helped a little, but it’s all about the foundation.

I recommend this line of products if you have coarse, thick hair that can take thick products and needs a lot of softening. I don’t recommend it for fine hair types.

Curly Hair Product Review: Curls LLC

Monday, April 4th, 2011

After telling you about the new curly hair products I purchased, the first curly hair product line I used was Curls LLC. I used just their products every time I washed my hair for over a week to get a true picture of how the products worked and the results I got.

For quite a few months before the start of my product review, I’ve used Deva Curl. Deva Curl is the best line of curl products I’ve used up until now. It gives me nice curl definition which lasts a good portion of the day. My hair tends to flatten out after a while which is why I’m always trying to get as much body and height as possible.

Another thing I like about Deva Curl is that the shampoo and conditioner is sulfate free. In other words, it’s great for your hair and the color you may add to it. Most shampoos have sulfate in them.

Curls LLC has all of those same qualities and more. I’m usually very wary of trying new things once I’ve found something I like so I went into this somewhat pessimistic on how it could be as good as Deva Curl. Well, I’m here to tell you that I like it even better than Deva Curl.

Curls LLC is also sulfate free which is a large positive for a hair product (in my opinion). It doesn’t give you suds like other shampoos with sulfate so if you have to have tons of suds, and you can’t get over it, this may not be for you. I do think it’s worth your hair’s health to get over not having suds.

Curls LLC also gives me a very defined curl which lasts all day. It also gives me great body which, believe it or not, also lasts all day. I’ve never had that happen before.

I’m using the shampoo, conditioner, “quenched” curl definer and “milkshake” which is a light cream that further defines the curls. All of the products have a great scent (which is a must). The only down side is that the shampoo bottle is only 8 ounces while the conditioner is 10 ounces. You should get at least as much shampoo as conditioner!

I highly recommend this line of products and will continue to use it after my product reviews are complete. Great job Curls LLC!

Curly Hair Products Review

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

A couple of weeks ago I attended a hair show and ran, not walked to all of the curly hair product booths. No, I’m not talking about the large companies who have a couple of token products. I’m talking about the smaller companies that only focus on products for curly hair. I believe that unless you have curly hair, you really don’t understand the dynamics of it (and there are many).

I’ve been using Deva Curl, which I like, but always want to try new products to see which works the best on my hair. I bought 3 different brands and will be using them and giving you a report for the next few weeks. The brands are: Mixed Chicks, Curly LLC and Hair Rules.

Stay tuned!
