Last Saturday I went to Boston Store’s Trendevous fall fashion show. The trends they talked about for fall were:
Shine and sparkle-wear something that shines or sparkles such as a top or skirt or shoes or jewelry or a purse. Don’t overdo it. If you’re wearing a sequin top, do non-shiny pieces for the rest of your look and do minimal jewelry. Some earrings will be just enough.
Military-military jackets are hot and oh, so cute. Yes, cute and many are refined. I love the rows of buttons which give it some shine when using gold or silver buttons. Boston Store showed both jackets and some camouflage pants. If you decide to partake in the military trend, don’t overdo it and wear camouflage on both top and bottom. Leave that for the people who are doing it as a career (Armed Forces). Instead, wear either a camouflage jacket with solid pants or a plain top with camouflage pants.
All Black-a total black look is no new way of thinking. People have been doing it since colored clothing was invented. Boston Store did show some modern, chic ways to do it such as with a little black dress, black tights, shoes and some sparkly jewelry. Very eye catching.
Lots of Layers-of garments that is. Layering garments in winter is an easy thing to do because you’re trying to stay warm. This doesn’t mean looking sloppy. It means layering nice pieces in a thoughtful way. If you notice in the pictures, even plus size can do it. Usually it’s shied away from because it adds bulk, but if you use thin fabrics, you can do it and not look bulky.
A Jacket with Boots-this is pretty self explanatory. Pair a great jacket or coat with a hot pair of boots. Hot doesn’t necessarily mean high heels. It means eye catching so if your style is a low heel, that’s great as long as the boots have some detail that catches your eye such as laced up the front. Men, you can do this to.
Men, you can do all of the trends! Add some cuff links or a metal watch for shine.
