Snow and Fashion Collide in Wisconsin

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

Who would have known a week ago we were in for the largest snow storm/ blizzard in many years? This snowstorm hasn’t just affected us Wisconsinites but many of the states around us. I’m physically stuck in my home today. There are at least 3 or 4 feet of snow at the end of my driveway thanks to the plows who have diligently kept up to ensure people who absolutely need to travel, can in a safe manner.

What is an image consultant and fashion stylist supposed to do when all client appointments have been cancelled for the day? Document the result of the historic snow storm of course! For your viewing pleasure, I’ve taken pictures of how snow and fashion collide in Wisconsin. I’ve also tried to show you how much snow there is. If you look carefully at the pictures that just look like snow, there is actually a sidewalk and the snow rises about 2 feet above it.

The SuperModels of Purple Passion & Fashion

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Julie Larsen, @julz156, and I are hosting a benefit for pancreatic cancer. Julie’s mom, sadly, died from pancreatic cancer and she wants to madness to stop. We all do. The more money we raise, the more research can be done to find a cure. Purple Passion and Fashion is on November 13th from 2pm-5pm at The Wherehouse. There will be plenty of fun and food from @streetzapizza , @antiguamke and @taste_of_life

There will be a silent auction that has awesome items and services from many local businesses. You don’t want to miss something you can actually use like a business logo or an optical store gift certificate. There will even be a gift certificate from yours truly!

Here’s the link to register: http://twtvite.com/ppandf

I am producing and directing a fashion show right on trend that you don’t want to miss. Urban Laundry, Luci, White Star and Shoo are the boutiques providing the fashions which are cutting edge.

The supermodels working the clothing are: Cynthia @deziner, Genevieve @einley, Katie @bootyp, Amy, Andrew @adny, Mark @markfairbanks, Augie @AgustinSantiago, Sharif @sharifrenno, Brian @brianmacguire

Every one of these individuals has a wonderful personality and added their own take to the shoot.

We decided to have a photo shoot of the models so you can see how awesome they are. Unfortunately Brian couldn’t be there but here are some pictures to show you what you have to look forward to.

James Conway, www.jamesconwayphoto.com was the photographer and as you can see, has a gift with photography. Thank you so much James! Any event you have, he’s your guy!

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Fall Fashion Photo Shoot

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

On Tuesday, August 31st, I participated in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Fall Fashion photo shoot. We were all excited to make this happen and ready to do our best. Everyone involved was great to work with. Thankfully, there were no divas. Everyone worked together well and did what needed to be done (and had fun doing it).

We started at Kristin Lindemann’s (@tinmakeup) salon with she and Amy Haubrich (@amershaubrich) doing makeup and hair. They’re both awesome at what they do and the shots wouldn’t have looked anywhere near as good without them. Hillary Fry (@solessence) was there doing nails in the most beautiful, hottest colors. She got the colors from Essie especially for the shoot; they weren’t even on the market yet. I highly recommend all 3 artists.

When everyone was beautified, we moved to Cuvee which is a cool bar/nightclub in the 3rd Ward. It was a great back drop for the looks to be shot. Nancy Doney from the Journal Sentinel was the one in charge of the whole shoot and Shauna Young from the same was there to make sure everything looked great. Jerry, the photographer was wonderful-low key, quick and excellent. Judith Berger was the author of the whole thing. She has to get every detail of the clothing and accessories perfect.

A cute couple out on the town starts the shoot. Tiffany and Alan Charles are the models in this set of shots and they look great in their dressy attire. Tiffany had on over $40,000 in diamond jewelry from Robert Haack. Nice. Note about Alan: Besides being entirely handsome, he works for Senator Lena Taylor.

The next shots were Heather Wittmann as a society lady with her long mink and bottle of champagne. Fabulous!

Amber Patt (@ambernp124) showed off a beautiful sequin encrusted rust color dress as a young socialite out on the town. Just a tidbit about her: she’s not only beautiful; she is going to be a doctor. Hello!

The cute couple, Tiffany and Alan showed up again in much more casual looks but having just as much fun as before.

Heather arrived in her lime vest looking like a snow bunny followed by Amber in her absolutely adorable long sleeveless fur vest. Divine!

Not to be outdone, Tiffany follows in (my fav) a stunning leather and fur coat. It’s hard to see in the pictures but the leather has a lot of texture to it so it almost looks braided. Awesome.

The last series of shots is of the 3 girlfriends out on a casual, uh, yet dressy girls night out. Too cute!

I had to take some shots of Shauna (please don’t hate me Shauna) because she’s so adorable. I told her she should be in front of the camera instead of behind and she made a comment about her height. I reminded her of America’s Next Top Model petite competition. Go for it Shauna!

I wanted the pictures to be very candid so you could see what was going on behind the scenes. None are perfect; all are fun. We’re so lucky Jerry is the professional photographer!

Look for the Fall Fashion section in the September 26, 2010, Sunday paper.

Last but not least, I want to thank my dear friend Mary Jane Sanchez (@chitqitamj) for introducing me to Nancy. I really enjoyed working with Nancy (fashionable, very experienced yet humble: fabulous combination) and hope to work with her in the future.
